
Celebration of festivals & national events at our institutes is one way of making the students understand the value of Indian culture and traditions and inculcating a sense of patriotism in them. Besides, such events these functions do give a sense of participation and togetherness as a group. These events are celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm, gaiety & fervor in our institutes which is evident from the view below :
Republic Day was celebrated by our Gurgaon institute, Dr. R.K. Arora, former President IETE, a distinguished educationist & a reputed engineer of repute was the Chief Guest. Other guests included Shri Ajai Kumar, Director Aeronautics DRDO & Wg. Cdr B. R Chawla, former chairman AeSI, Delhi Branch. After flag hoisting a cultural programme was presented by the students of the institute.
Students who excelled in academics were awarded. Amongst the prizewinners were Naresh Kumar, Balvinder, Nidhi Mishra, Vikas, Pooja Singh, Pankaj & \ Amit Saraswat.Independence Day was celebrated with lots of enthusiasm by Nagpur institute. Senior Officers from HQ Maintenance Command were invited as guests. Besides the flag hoisting, the event included a magic show, cultural programme which included mimicry, skits, singing patriotic song & prize distribution.
Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated at Nagpur institute by installing Ganesh idol on 7' September 2005 at Girls & Boys hostels. For over 10 days there were cultural programmes in which the gaiety, enthusiasm & one ness shown by the students & staff was quite apparent.
Fresher's Party "UTKARSH" maintaining the high standard of Traditions of GGIAET, Fresher's Party for 2005 batch students was organized on 8th Oct. 2005 with vigour, gusto and colours. The function was nick named as 'UTKARSH'. The freshers came out with some sizzling performances whereas the elders gave simply superb stage performances. A similar party was organized by GGIAET, Faridabad on 14th Nov. 2005.
Udaan 2006 Annual day function was organized by our Faridabad and Gurgaon institutes at Muncipal Hall Auditorium Faridabad on 28 Feb 2006. Miss Himani Kapoor Sa Re Ga MA PA 2005 contest finalist and winner in the female category was the Guest of honour.
Annual Social Functions (Tarang 2006) was organized by Nagpur Institute on lth March 2006. Air Marshal K.5. Chaturvedi, VSM, AGC in C, Maintenance Command was the guest of honour. The chief guest inaugurated the newly commissioned Aeronautical lab. Cultural programmes presented by the students during the social evening were excellent and included traditional as well as /modern dances, songs, skits & mimicry. Programme culminated with well organized Fashion Parade. The chief guest gave away the prizes.
Sports meet was organized at GGIAET Nagpur, wherein students / staff participated in Cricket, Badminton, Table Tennis & Chess Tournaments. The students showed great enthusiasm and participated whole-heartedly in various disciplines. Some excellent sports men were identified amongst the students during this meet.
